Great shot Phil. I will ask Phil Wittman to take a look at your butterfly pictures and help ID them!
Yay Phil! So glad you were able to capture this with such clarity and added it to our mission! Congrats on the SOTD! You're famous!!
Thank you and muchas gracias Alejandra! Great reference link!
beautiful series of shots of this beauty! Congratulations on hitting this milestone!
Hi Greg. Beautiful Spotting. Would you please add this to our mission? We are creating something of a virtual field guide for our study sites in the Peruvian Amazon near Iquitos. http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8910...
Any other photos you have from your visit to the area that you can add would be much appreciated!
Thank You! ~Christa Dillabaugh, Education Director, Amazon Rainforest Workshops.
Bayucca, check out http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/307...
It is the same frog, but photo taken by another photographer in our group.
So interesting and such a great example that illustrates the challenges of field identification and proper classification - especially for our student participants who have only dealt with dichotomous keys if they are lucky.
On the left side of the photo of http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/127...... Is that an extra set of ears poking into the picture on the left side of the photo? They appear to be decidedly more rounded than the featured bat...As an educator, this opens up a whole new opportunity to engage students in questioning, wondering, and seeking more information! Love it!
Great series of shots Geoffrey. New to me that bats roost in termite nests. What do you think of AfriBat's ID suggestion?
