I found your spotting to be very interesting and found another spotting with a similar caudal appendage. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/173... that was spotted in Belize. Good luck with identification. It's a beatiful wasp mimic!

Hi, I have been searching for this ID...the closest I have found is Glycythyma chrysorycta (Nacoleia chrysorycta). Perhaps, this is a reference point for you, as my resources for your area is very limited. Good Luck!

I believe its host plant in the photo is a Wild Parsnip, Pastinaca sativa

I'm not a plant expert and not sure what has caused the unusual dark red coloration of the leaves.
