The location is the same for al the pictures: Bako national park. I have been there for 1 week and I took pictures of this specie in different moment of the day and with different lenses (wideangle and supertele zoom 400mm.).
Emma, in the exact moment of the shoot the bird is not hunting. He had taken the insect "scarab" on the ground and then he brought it on the branch to kill him beating him. This is the final part of the hunting: the insect is dead and the bird throws it into his bill.
Daniele you are right. Ara can be seen only on the Pacific coasts: in Corcovado National Park and near Jaco where they have been repopulated in the last years. I didn't remember the exact location and I have written a central city in Costa Rica. This shot was taken along the way between Manuel Antonio National Park and Jacò. There were a big tree with on 3 couples while mating.
Senks, Jonathan!
Peter... this is the same frog on the same plant
Это не гусеница а личинка пилильщика Cephidae перепончатокрылые.
Peter, yes I took this picture in Costa Rica. I have seen the link and probably they bought my picture on a microstock web pages because I sell my pictures through them. I have more than 200 pictures of the same frog. This is a beautifull picture and I have sold it many many times.
Yes, this is red colobus, zanzibar.
Senks!
