Sign In to followI would say Natrix maura because of the back pattern (zigzag typical of natrix maura and with lateral eyespots) and the highly trinagular head, mimicking a viper.
Yes Emma, by closed i mean that you can't see the tentacles because it retracted them =)
This is NOT a Lacerta lepida. It's another lacertid... Maybe genus Podarcis

Pleurodeles waltii is a salamander (salamandra de costelas salientes ou salamandra dos poços) this is a Bosca's newt ou Tritão de ventre laranja =)
Arlanda thank you so much! this makes part of my childhood and now I was having a hard time figuring out the species! I found a Portuguese forum and they confirmed your ID =) they are called wolfs farts so i always though them to be from the genus lycoperdon... but no! Thank You =)
