Mark, tell me if the naming still isn't correct... :)
The "June" beetle looks very similar, but with no hair. However the Clavipalpus ursinus (Blanchard) looks to be it! (Although there are a few of these Clavipalpus ursinus beetles, so It's not garanteed.) Thanks, Mark!
And Leuba, you're right! Can you imagine if these guys were 30cm? Flying around amidst city traffic...
Thank you Philip, I have seen them a few times recently, but can't seem to get a shot off before they jump away. I will keep trying.
That is an amazing find, you voyer, you. They do it just like us!
Thanks Joshua! I seem to have a propensity for finding these guys in my travels.
I've seen him too, but I've never been able to get a clear shot of him. Thanks for posting!
I was lucky enough to capture some hatching from their eggs: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/161...
If I could get one to follow me, it would be like my own personal spice rack.
Wow what a beautiful spider! Nice shots, too!
Incredibly beautiful. I hope it doesn't mind the name...
