These two species are part of an interesting phenomenon! I will pass along further what I have come across about telling the difference!

In addition to this, I will pass along something else I have been told. According to Pyle, you can't tell by sight when you are in the field looking at it/taking a picture. You can only go by the song or you have to have the bird in your hand and go by proportions! I can't tell you any more about this comment than that!

Now you know all I've come been exposed to about these two species!
Ultimately, the decision is up to you what to label your observation! I hope you enjoy reading about all of this! I've enjoyed your observations!

kingbird (Tropical or Couch's). but hard to tell without using their the bird's song to ID it probably.
