I liked how you described what your area was like, and what your lichen looked like. Great job explaining how cold it was and how you can tell how healthy the ecosystem is. Did you have to look at a lot of sites to find out witch lichen you had to identify? I dont really think you had anything wrong with this spotting. You had alot of information on this lichen. Great Job!

Your mushroom looks very similar to mine. On mine, it said it was a California Fungi. Your characteristics are not very like mine though. Yours has a red ring and mine has just a little red ring. Yours was by a tree and the soil was dry. My soil was wet and not near a tree. You did a nice job with describing what your mushroom looked like. Nice job!
Maybe next time you could show us more pictures so that this mushroom would be easier to identify. You did a nice job describing you mushroom and telling us the temperature outside.
