Dedicated to the Promotion of World Friendship through the Universal Language of the Arts
Interlochen Center for the Arts was founded in 1928 and is located in northwest lower Michigan. In 1962, through the vision of Joe Maddy, ICA added Interlochen Arts Academy, a boarding high school dedicated to the arts. In 2006, Interlochen was awarded the National Medal of Arts, the nation's highest honor for artistic excellence. Interlochen Center for the Arts engages and inspires people worldwide through excellence in educational, artistic and cultural programs, enhancing the quality of life through the universal language of the arts.
