Biodiversity and Classification
Get out your phone or other mobile device. It is time to go on an adventure. On this mission each student will find at least four different organisms that no one else in Mrs. Armstrong's classes has submitted. They may be plants (trees, flowers, ferns, mosses and more), animals (mammals, birds, reptiles, and insects) or fungi. Using the internet you will identify the four specimen and label them with both their scientific and common name. You will upload them to our mission site.

Project Noah is a site used by scientists to study life from all over the world. This will be the first of several missions we will undertake in order to discover life in our local ecosystem. In later missions we will also look at the biodiversity from around the world and how they interact. In this mission we are to find as many different specimens of organisms, document them, and share our findings. To do this we will go on a hike taking pictures and upload them to my classroom site at Project Noah. We will also be labeling our finds with a common name and a scientific name. This mission is only available to me and students in my class.
