Hops Hunters

Hops Hunters

When out running, hiking or biking on a conserved property use this to document 'wild' hops. Hops are not wild to Utah but were most likely introduced from German immigrants and now grow without assistance throughout Summit County. Summit Land Conservancy is looking to tap into the brewing business. With over 2500 acres of protected lands in Summit County, Utah, the conservancy is looking for assistance locating wild hops—on their protected lands— in hopes to generate a “conservation” beer with Wasatch Brewery. With your help, we will be able to locate potentially viable hops populations, which will in turn be nurtured to harvest and generate a 2015 beer release.
