Now, then... OK, it could just be an unlucky beetle larva ;-)... Maybe you try to google: "beetle larva bugguide", then go to pictures. We might not be able to get the genus/species, but maybe the family, if WE are lucky...

I did not phrase my description well bayucca, it is definitely not an aquatic larva, it was just unfortunate enough to be in the water.

At first sight it looks like a beetle larva, but the fact you found it IN the water is confusing. Water beetle larva look somehow different. Just a hint for further search.
