Bess Beetle

Passalidae sp.

Description:

Some kind of ground beetle with a shiny black exoskeleton. I found it on the ground near a tree. It was having difficulty walking. I think it may have been injured somehow.

Habitat:

A bare patch of ground at the base of a tree.

Notes:

It kept flipping itself over, I had to keep fixing it. Something was definitely wrong with it.
