Red-shouldered Hawk

Buteo lineatus

Description:

Sitting about 15 feet up in a tree on the side of a golf course near wetlands area. 12-18" long.

Notes:

Anyone familiar enough with hawks to help identify? Recently saw another very similar looking hawk. After staring and Sibley and Stokes I felt like that one was a Sharp-shinned Hawk. But really not sure at all about either this one or that one. Thought about the Florida Subspecies of the Red-shouldered hawk given the grey head. Went with that one after a suggestion came right in.

thanks @nickenew1 - seems right to me and had looked at that one in Sibley. What is the key identifier for you?
