Northern Pig-tailed Macaque

Macaca leonina

Description:

yawning, medium size, old world monkey

Habitat:

tropical forest

Notes:

I spotted many Pigtailed Macaques in Erawan National Park. They were actually more of a nuisance there. They are too used to humans and could be aggressive and even steal from visitors. I kept a safe distance. Though this individual looks angry with his mouth wide open, he was actually just yawning, which he did often.

Heh, it just make me remember about Macaca fascicularis (long-tailed macaque) from Baluran National Park. They stole my friend's food, when he brought it on the hand. very aggressive ... Btw, nice moment Dan!
