Ploceus capensis
The Cape Weaver (female and non-breeding male) has brown upper-parts. The breeding male has yellow underparts, an orange face, and a white iris.
It is found in grassland, agricultural and fynbos habitats, near water (rivers, pounds...).
Did you ever watch a weaver building its nest? The breeding male could build dozens of nests from grass and leaves in the same tree. The nest is round-shaped, with the entrance facing the ground. Whenever a female approach the nest, the male weaver is parading as never! But if the female refuses and exits the proposed nest, the male will scratch it ferociously down... and will start again!
