Dragon-headed Katydid

Agraeciini

Description:

Spotting wildlife is all about timing and this was no exception. I caught this huge katydid, 10cm (3") in the act of depositing its eggs into the soft trunk of a palm tree. It is either Ellatodon blanchardi or a Lesina sp.

Habitat:

tropical rainforest

Notes:

One of my more interesting spottings from Gunung Gading national park.
