Pandion haliaetus

Description:

An Osprey catching a fish near Cottesloe beach and being disputed by a Seagull. Measuring about 60cm in length and 150cm wingspan. Brown upper parts, breast is white and white underparts, white head with a dark mask across the eyes, reaching to the sides of the neck.

Habitat:

Spotted at Cottesloe Beach WA (Australia), the osprey is found on all continents except Antarctica and has a wide variety of habitats, nesting in any location near a body of water providing an adequate food supply.

Notes:
