They con ants into protecting them especially when there's young nymphs. Like a crazy nursery. It's sad but interesting to watch the ants laying their lives on the line against the european wasps now.

Good spotting David. When they appear they can stay for a while. I've got a little mob for 6 months now. It's fun to watch their numbers go up and down. Did you notice ants hanging around? Or patches of white fluffy stuff?
