Dwarf Larkspur (Spring Larkspur)

Description:

Spotted these in an old growth deciduous woodland during a hike Monday. Early spring flowers covered the hillside before the main trees flush overshadows these flowers. Perennial herb up to 24 inches tall. Flower: colour Blue, white and bi-colour. Bee's were buzzing inside some of the flowers.

Habitat:

Rich damp and dry woods.

Notes:

Hopi indians used the the colour blue from the flowers.

Yes thanks Alice - beautiful spring flowers and the wild hyacinth coming soon which looks similar to the English bluebells in the woods I remember when I lived there.
