Description:

These parrotfishes hide in a crevice and secrete a protective mucus cocoon around themselves at night to sleep as you can see here. It is like a transparent bed sheet. It reduces the detection of the parrotfish's scent by predators, protecting them from attacks.

Habitat:

Bari Reef, Bonaire.
