Assassin Bug Egg Casing

Zelus sp.

Description:

Very tiny egg mass - About 4 mm (just under 3/16") in diameter with each cell about .5 mm. Found under an American Holly (Ilex opaca) leaf. Appears to be old, possibly from last year.

These eggs seem to be quite old, since they are well worn. Fresh eggs look like this:
