Perennial climber or creeping plant, grows up to 50 cm. White to yellow 7-14 petal flowers.
Leafs are revolted and wide growing as parte of the stems.
Commonly confused with Mutisia rosea, but M. rosea is a bush with thin leaves that prefers lower altitudes.

Arbusto rastrero o trepador, ramas con alas angostas sinuosas o dentadas. Hojas densas lanceoladas de ápice agudo, las superiores con zarcillo, o todas sin él, margen dentado o lobulado y revoluto, glabras en el haz y algo tomentosas por el envés; muy polimorfas. Capítulos con pedúnculo corto. Pocas brácteas, las exteriores terminadas en un apéndice lanceolado, las intermedias con un apéndice corto y un mechoncito de lana y las internas obtusas y un mucrón pequeño. Flores marginales 8 a 10, de color blanco o amarillo por el haz y rosado o pardo por el envés. Flores del disco amarillas. Papus blanco.
Especie nativa. Crece en la cordillera desde Vallenar a Santiago. También en Argentina. Frecuente.
Native to Chile and Argentina.
High altitude close to the timber line, usually above 2000 meters above sea level.
The flower of this species of Muticia varies a lot compared to other Muticia sp.
