Tetrio Sphinx caterpillar

Pseudosphinx tetrio

Habitat:

Common in southern Florida on host plant Frangipani (Plumeria) and other plants in the Dogbane family.

Notes:

This Frangipani was full of these very vibrantly colored caterpillars of the Tetrio Sphinx Moth (a.k.a. The Giant Gray Sphinx). The caterpillars are commonly also known as Frangipani Caterpillar. Though the reference lists them as not uncommon in the area, I had never seen them before.
