Spectacled Nettle Moth

Abrostola urentis

Description:

This moth had an amazing coif! I had to get side profile shot.

Total length: ~15 mm. Pale gray forewings with bands of darker shading in median area and beyond subterminal line. Thorax has collar behind the head. Large, pale gray claviform and orbicular spots are fused into an hourglass shape.

Habitat:

Habitat: Attracted to a light at night in a rural area.
