Description:

An obvious favorite with the slugs! The cap is soft and felty when young and becomes bald and leathery with age. When young, cap is brownish purple and becomes darker purple with age. White to pinkish pores that bruise brown. White to brown club-shaped stem that is finely reticulate near the apex.

Habitat:

Growing on the ground in a deciduous forest.
