Green Anole

Anolis carolinensis

Description:

This green anole found in florida is a rare sighting due to the invasive cuban brown anole out competing it in its habitat. Seen here showing it's unique dewlap and typical posturing full body bob. It will camouflage to a brown color to match the wood if it feels threatened or unsafe. I was honored that it didn't hide from me and allowed me to get some pictures too.

Habitat:

Found on a boardwalk near a bird feeder in a big cypress dome surrounded by wetlands.
