Multicolored Asian Lady Beetle

Harmonia axyridis

Description:

Exceptionally beautiful lady bug. Vibrant red with an unusual spot pattern. Probably a female about to lay her eggs on this tree, where I found a bunch of lady bug eggs and saw a few more adults roaming around and exploring crags in the bark, where they like to lay their eggs. (see other spotting for photos of the eggs, which were yellow and oblong)

Habitat:

Big oak tree on Emory University quad. It was a sunny, warm day, probably 75 degrees or so at the time.
