Phymatosorus grossus
Orange seeds found on underside of leaf, on either side of midrib. Leaf curves and curls, ranging in color from a translucent light green to gradual shades darker. Originally thought to be a bush, I think of this plant more of a ground covering type of plant, do to the large surface area it takes up, as well as its density.
Found in abundance in gardens and disturbed areas; from beaches to shaded lowland forests as well as ridges and valleys. Found in many types of habitat's, from graden soil, potting mox, or uncut moss that is well-drained; to moss that is moist to moist/dry. Sunlight should be medium to high.
Used for hula altars and as hula adornment, as well as for scenting kapa and for different types of lei.
