If you look closely you can see one of them is hatching. The hungry larvae will eat the other eggs before they have a chance to hatch.
I found these on a dry and loose cypress leaf twig caught in the trunk of a cypress tree. Hardwood hammock.

So that is what these are - nice spot.
I just photographed some of these the other day and hadn't posted since I had no idea what it was I was looking at
