Cardinalis cardinalis
Thanksgiving Day, 2009, this female cardinal flew into a window. She took about an hour to recover and eventually flew away. Male cardinals are so bright and showy, but the female cardinal is every bit as beautiful, in a subdued way.

Lovely! I agree the females are just as beautiful in a more subtle way than their flashier mates.
