This adult male Australian Eastern Water Dragon was spotted in the middle of Brisbane’s Central Business District. Brisbane is one of the world’s few large modern cities were large agamids can be found right in the middle of a built environment brushing shoulders with business suits…
Spotted close to the Brisbane River and the Botanical Gardens. Australian water dragons are semi-aquatic and typically perch in conspicuous ways near creeks, rivers, lakes and other water bodies.

Thank you namitha!
Amazing series. The first spotting looks like a dinosaur from Jurassic Park. Pretty cool series.
Thank you Noel!
Wow! Beautiful photos and series!
Thank you Gj Met!
Great pictures!
Glad you like them Neil. These guys are actually quite shy: all you generally get is a profile shot and they'll run away. I'm thrilled I made eye contact (through the camera) with this one :-)
Gorgeous series of photographs Daniele! Excellent!
Thanks Viv and Argy. I love these guys! These two are visitors to my Brisbane garden:
