Myrobalan Plum

Prunus cerasifera

Description:

Late blooming beautiful flowers of the dark leaved cherry plum tree.

Habitat:

used as an ornamental tree in gardens but many are growing wild as was this one by a railway line. This species is native to Europe and Asia.

Notes:

The flowers, leaves and berries of this cherry plum tree are all beautiful although the tree without the leaves in winter is not attractive. It is a wonderful sight to see the morning sun shining through the leaves of the prunus tree !!
