I was able to capture this one in his takeoff stance. Adult males are all black with a red patch bordered by yellow on their wings. This one might still have some juvenile plumage.
Spotted at Flaming Geyser State Park at one of the wetlands along the Green River. They prefer wetlands and marshes, especially if cattails are present.
