False Garden Mantid

Pseudomantis albofimbriata

Description:

This brown female ( short wings) false garden mantid was about 50mm long. As with all mantids of this species, there were dark patches on the half way up the inside of the first pair of legs (pic #1)

Notes:

This is the first brown mantid I have seen in a long time !

Thanks martin - but not as impressive as argybee's - spotted a couple of days later.

She will lay a cluster of eggs, several times per season and they will hatch out next spring. some PN members are breeding them http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/100...
