I believe this is a Scarlet Ibis. I need any help you are willing to provide in order to correctly identify this spotting. (As of 3/31/12) My thanks again to Stian Waaler for his assistance in identification. This is indeed a Scarlet Ibis. I will update the spotting to reflect the common and scientific names.
