Old World swallowtail (Μαχάωνας)

Papilio machaon

Description:

One of the commonest butterflies in Greece, the common yellow swallowtail (Papilio machaon). She landed on the beach, and I was quite surprised to see her so close to the sea. She flew away few moments later. Spotted and photographed in Soutrali beach, Pagasitikos gulf, Greece.
