Description:

A 6-10 airy shrub that forms thickets. A member of the Fabaceae (Pea) family Leaves are compound. Flower are spikelike clusters of dark blue or purple flowers with yellow orange stamens.

Habitat:

Sun to part shade with moderate moisture.

Notes:

Especially valuable to native bees.
