American Black bear

Ursus americanus, previously known as Euarctos americanus

Description:

Unlike Grizzly and Polar Bears, Black Bears are generally shy and secretive.

Notes:

Photoed from car as we were leaving. Photoed using a long lens camera. Mother bear and three cubs were in front yard’s woods between place where we are staying and another home. Elevation 2,900. ...the next night just after sunset we saw two cubs in woods in our back yard. We presume the mother and 3rd cub were nearby, but lost sight as we lost daylight.
