Texas Live Oak Tree

Quercus virginiana

Description:

Nearly evergreen different from the Southern Live Oak in that it is usually smaller and can tolerate dry sites unlike the Southern Live Oak that prefers moister conditions. The acorns are slightly larger and have more pointed apex. The trunk rarely exceeds 1 m diameter, where as, the Southern Live Oak can reach 2.5 m diameter.
