The Cape brown also does not fly on the Peninsula, only from Stellenbosch eastwards.

You' re perfectly right Jeff. My mistake. I did correct the ID accordingly.

This ID is incorrect. P. narycia is not found anywhere near Cape Town. Furthermore it has very large highly visible eyes on the underside of the hindwing - this butterfly has a plain hindwing. This is a distant photo but would seem to be the Cape Brown Cassionympha detecta which is usually active in March.
