European Earwig

Forificula auricularia

Description:

1/4 - 1/2 inch male - Nocturnal, Feeds on various insects and plants. Damage to various flowers and crops are caused by earwigs. They have pinchers at the end of the abdomen. They rarely use their flying ability. They lay eggs in small holes in the ground or crevices.

Habitat:

On wall of the house (nighttime)

Notes:

Urban legend!! They DO NOT lay eggs in your ear or eat your brains.
