Zeus slossonae
A relative of the Potters wasp. It nests in the ground with burrows that it digs itself (called galleries) or borrows from other animals like the fiddler crabs to lay its eggs. It has a stinger which it uses to paralyze caterpillars which it carries to the nest and leaves with the eggs, so that when they hatch, the larvae have something to eat. They are beneficial insects because they help gardeners by keeping pest insects from eating their plants.
mangrove flats or sand scrub.
This wasp was going in and out digging a fresh burrow/nest. video link shows the wasp digging its nest~ http://vimeo.com/39748595
