Blackcap; Curruca Capirotada

Sylvia atricapilla

Description:

This is a female, hence the brownish cap. They spend the winter in this area but disappear in summer.

Habitat:

Trees by well in mountain village.

Notes:

We saw this while collecting drinking water from a well in a village which is around 1,000 metres up in the mountains but only a short drive from where we live. Our own village's piped water is unfit for drinking! Sometimes it is too dirty for washing as well!
