Eastern Boxelder Bug

Boisea trivittata

Description:

The three orange lines on its pronotum (back of neck) give this species its name. Found this one in an area crawling with these bugs (literally!). Tons of nymphs and a few other adults.

Habitat:

Wooded area on Emory campus, between a stream and a concrete, fenced "do not enter, high voltage" area. Funny contrast.
