Balta cockroach

Description:

A small pale brown cockroach about 12mm long with long antennae and a pair of conspicuous segmented cerci. The cockroach appeared to have a translucent exoskeleton. The meso- and meta thoracic segments had lateral extensions that were pointed towards the rear. There were a pair of small dark spots on either side of the midline on the meso and meta thorax. and laterally placed series of dark spots on all abdominal segments.

Habitat:

Spotted on a leaf of a eucalyptus tree. The leaf was covered with sooty mold

Notes:

I am unable to find much information on this species. It was a very small but alert little cockroach - I could not take many pictures of him. I wondeered if he was feeding on the mold.
