Roseate Spoonbill

Description:

The Roseate Spoonbill is a large bird that measures about 71 cm. The beak of this bird is long and rounded at the tip giving it a spoon shape and uses it to find food in the mud.They have strong legs that permits them to move into the mud better than other aquatics birds.

Habitat:

Marsh areas and Mangrove

Notes:

the color of its plumage comes from the rich sources of carotenoid pigments found in the invertebrates it consumes
