Green Anole (male)

Anolis carolinensis

Description:

Large for an anole. Look how long his tail is (photo 3)! He was totally showing off for the camera. Must be popular with the lady lizards. Seemed like he saw me through the window, knew I couldn't get to him, and came closer out of curiosity. Stayed there for a long time, completely at ease. (I don't know if lizards are capable of that level of thought, but he sure did seem to be watching me!)

Habitat:

Suburban yard. Lots of anoles live here, and they show up all the time in spring and summer.

Notes:

I have plenty of anole spottings already, but this guy was especially charismatic!
