Long-tailed Macaque

Macaca fascicularis

Description:

Also called the crab-eating macque.

Habitat:

These monkeys were hanging out outside Angkor Wat. As you can see by the second photo they have pretty big teeth so I wasn't too thrilled when one of them jumped right on top of my head! Thankfully he didn't spend too much time up there. They are very used to people as the locals encourage tourists to feed them by trying to sell you things like popsicles to give them. The monkey in the second last photo is eating a piece of watermelon that a woman gave him, which although better than popsicles still didn't impress me much especially since she gave it to him in a plastic bag which he carried around afterwards.
