Crane Fly Larvae

Tipula sp.

Description:

Short, fat grubs. One is brown and the other is white. They were both about 2.5 cm long.

Habitat:

Under dead log on edge of stream at Palomar Mountain ~ 5300 feet in elevation.

Probably. I found a larva like that one a couple weeks ago, and someone ID-ed it for me as crane fly.
