Description:

Imposing and distinctive perennial. Seen mostly as rosettes of fleshy, blue-green leaves, spine-tipped, with spiny margins. Tall spikes of yellowish flowers appear when plant is mature, after which plant dies.

Habitat:

Favours stony ground, but found widespread. Widely naturalised.
